Denise thought my last post sounded like I was whining about the cost of everything. Maybe a little but that wasn't the reason I listed everything. I want to document all the various steps, and costs, as I go so if someone else is interested in doing something similar they can use the blog as a guide to maybe help them.
Just in the few trips we have made to Apple Canyon Lake we have met many future "neighbors" and everyone has been so friendly and welcoming. Our realtor and her husband that we purchased the lot through live on the lake. They not only were the first to welcome us but have provided many contacts and recommendations for sub contractors. I've met people on the various boards at the lake, or who are in charge of various departments, and they just couldn't be nicer. The young gal in the office has been a big help with all the permits and paperwork. Everyone seems to really take pride in their community and we've never once second guessed our decision to build there.
Every month a newspaper called "The Apple Core" is published. It is nicer than many home town papers. It is full of information about the various activities and clubs as well as details of the important items being addressed by the different boards. We are really looking forward to the day when our project is complete and we can begin to fully enjoy all the things there are to take advantage of.
